What is the most durable blackberry? I can purchase anything under 645 CAD.
I currently have a Curve 8330. I do not want a storm, or a torch, or a pearl.
was looking at a Bold 9700.
    What do you recomend?
Again i am looking for durability, and the best general 'berry out.

Well I would just suggest getting the phone that you want. And just put a type of case on it that suits your needs, like the otter commuter or defender series depending on how much protection you need. Otherwise I would think the wear and tear on the phone like the keys and buttons should be pretty close to the same across the models. I have only had two different berries myself though.

I am not talking about wear...
Like i want it to live if i drop it lol.
Also, i would just be putting a "skin" one my BB, not a case.

Durable meaning ability to drop it? No berry takes a blow very well without protection of some sort... I would recommend a 9700 with an Otterbox, you get a reliable phone that can take a fairly good beating.

I used to think that the 8330 was the most durable, but now I think the 9000 is the most solid BB to date. It feels very tight when you have it in your hand. There aren't any creaks or anything in it. The faux leather back is good for drops on the backside and you won't get scratches on the battery cover. I just feels like the phone can take a beating and keep on going.

Now, what is the best blackberry over all.
I have held a Torch, but it felt super heavy and unbalanced.

That's like asking what the best Ford car is, or what the best type of coffee is, it is completely dependent on the individual's wants/needs/preferences/character/ect. Go try the 9700, or 9780, or 9550, or 9300, or 9800... Go see what works for you

My Curve 8900 has given me almost 2 years of faultless service, i only stopped using it as I upgraded to a Torch.

Here is the dirty little secret. The older
BlackBerrys (81xx, 83xx, etc) are very
durable however they suffer in terms of
    performance compared to todays devices.

The newer devices have great performance but the build quality is not
    the same.

My advice, get the phone you like with the
features, specs, form factor you like and
then invest in a good case (Otterbox
    sucks IMO) and you're done.

    Double Post! lol

Totally agree. My 8320 could handle eons more abuse than my 9700s, but I love it 10x more than I did the curve. Either take AG's advice or get insurance on the phone!

My vote goes to 83xx IMO. If you need the latest and greatest I give the title to the Bold 9000 just in terms of durability.
