I used InstaMapper for my wife's 8310 (loss prevention). Problem is that, when reporting persistently (more than 6 times a day or when her device moved more than 2 miles), it killed her battery. Other than that, accurate and free.
Are you able to upload your data from your Storm to the web site? Sandooi (Smap) works well on my phone but I get an error message when I hit the Verification button so I'm not able to upload to the web site.
Google maps shows you where you are. It does not track where you have been. These apps are showing information that was plotted while traveling (GPS location, speed, altitude, etc) and putting it on a map.
I've used GPSED and GPS logger. Both work well, but IMO the ability to upload track information and share that with friends gives GPSED an edge over GPS Logger. Both allow you to export to a .gpx format for Google Earth. GPS logger is a bit more granular with the control of plotting intervals, where GPSED is just Unfiltered, low, and high filtering to adjust for the needs on the track. GPSED also allows you to share tracks with several social networking sites (I use Facebook) so it can post a link to the track that is uploaded to GPSED.com.
