Mainly for the media options. The pearl has it but I like a full size phone. and even though its full size it seems so small! I LOVVVVVVVVVVE THEM.. oh ya and its sexy
The 7290 imo was the best one. If they could add a camera and a better screen and memory, then the shape and build quality stands way above any of the others....
i've only had one berry - my pearl - and i gotta tell you, it does everything! camera + video, web, texting, suretype, games, voice recorder, calender, maps, notepad, blog and twitterberry, messenger, music, and more. yes i would have to pay to use the gps, but i already have one for the car so that's not an issue.
I had an 8700c briefly a couple of years ago...and tried the 8800 prior to getting my current 8310 Curve...so my opinion is not based on years of experience.
I really like my Curve...and I have had absolutely zero issues with it, or the 8300 I had before it. I also like the 88xx series simply because it feels a little more substantial and solid, plus it's a little more elegant and "businesslike" than my Crimson 8310. I am actually looking for a used 8820 right now as a matter of fact...
Overall, though...the Curve gets my vote. Modern, great build quality, excellent performance, innovative desigh, and great looking. It's definately the best overall mobile device I have ever used...and I have had many mobile phones in the past several years!!
I think the best BlackBerry is yet to come. Its all about what the OS allowed you to do for right now I agree with Orle8050 Pearl 2 but for the looks I go with SolaCHICA.
Having used the 8100, 8310, 9000 and 8900, I would have to
say the 8900 hands down. Tons of app memory, superior camera,
best screen available, properly positioned USB port, great
battery life, dedicated standby and k/board lock buttons,
enhanced EDGE and WiFi. This of course is just my opinion.
ive been using curve 8900 (os 5.0) and it does help me do everything in my everyday life. emails, txts, IMs, web browsing, gps all in one go are seamless. but anyway, ive been thinking whether RIM is gonna produce model with 8700g shape, but performance wise is like the Bold. Im kinda into retro stuffs and would love to see if RIM has any plan in the future to make a special edition berry ^_^
The 8700 has to go down in history as one of RIM's most notable phones. No doubt about it. Classic design. Groundbreaking product when it was released. Durable. Truly an excellent product. But reality is that it is outdated now. One for the history books of cell phones? Surely. Best BlackBerry now? Not hardly.
And don't get me started about these other series nominees ... particularly the 8300 series ... being the best. Kinda silly.
The best Berry will almost always be the most recent release because it has all the best and latest features. How could anyone compare the 8300 and 8900 series and go away claiming that the 8300 is a better phone. There is virtually nothing the 8300 does that the 8900 doesn't do much better. And I've owned both phones.
The 8900 and the Tour are BlackBerry's best phones today. Next year when newer products are released, they will no doubt become the best.
Now if you want to change the title of this thread to "What was your FAVORITE BlackBerry," that would be a different story. But there is no way you can point to older, retired or outdated models and claim they are better than the latest product releases.
I've had my Storm 9350 on Verizon network less than a month and I love it generally. I migrated from an LG Storm phone (which I loved) and a Palm LifeDrive (which I absolutely loved until it got a small crack in the screen). I was looking for something that could replace the phone and the Palm in one device. I've found the Storm to be quirky and I wasn't used to memory problems (coming from Palm) but even so I'm generally satisfied. And reading these CB forums has been very helpful. Thanks everyone!
But they still aren't the fastest. The Bold is the best BB ever hands down until the Onyx.
I've gone over this a million times. I own a Tour and I'm provided a Bold. The Tour is every bit as fast as the bold and has double the app memory and a better camera. The Tour and 8900 ARE the latest and greatest blackberries.
