ooooo
I never got used to the 8700g I had. I replaced it with the 8300 but then upgraded to the 9000
And I have to add:
What was asked?
the best device with the best abilities?
Then obisously the newer devices, especially the 9900 and 9930 beating just all devices. Perhaps the 9790 for the smaller hands too
Of what sold the most devices?
Or was in the smartphone category in its era the most bought device?
All questions have other, correct answers
I agree the 7290 was the best 72xx device as it most of all.
But I would never replace my 9900 with it

My personal fav among the Berries was the 8800. That thing was a TANK, it rang loud and the vibration alert was great! I had good sound quality and it was a pure work horse! The battery lasted me 3 days and it was pretty slim for that time! It didn't have a camera, but that was fine with me. If I had one now I'd use it in a heart beat! I'm all about emails, texts, phone calls, and FB/Twitter and that little thing performed!
The next best Berry after that is the 9900.

For me it was the Pearl flip is was rugged and it got the job done for me . In the construction field the flip phone works the best .

Not enough experience to vote really but I really dug the 9650 (the only BB I'd ever touched) until one of the managers at work handed me his 9930. Wow I was sold. The keyboard is perfect for larger hands and thumbs. I still prefer the trackpad over the touch screen but I do use it for scrolling. I think my lousy experience with a droid makes me appreciate the trackpad more.
Best,
Rob

would have to say the 9930 is the best with the 8330 coming in second. i kept that phone longer then any phone i ever had then the tour was ok to

9000 hands down! My absolute favourite Blackberry ever, still miss the one I had. The 9700 was great too but it lost some of those things that made the 9000 special. The materials weren't as nice, it was smaller(like a Curve WTF?), lighter and I never bonded with it cause it really didn't do anything more than my 9000 did.
To those that think the 9900 is like a new gen 9000, it is, but it so isn't. When the Bold 9000 launched it was not behind the times and they didn't go out of their way for form. With the 9900 it was a great update to what the 9780 was, but was still a generation behind the market in terms of hardware.
No Auto-Focus Camera. NO big design change for Blackberry. No front facing camera and the battery was a joke! As I said great upgrade, would probably be very happy with one if I had it, but just doesn't live up to what the 9000 did.8700, Bold 9000, Bold 9700, Torch 9860, Z10! No case FTW!!! - 06-21-2012, 07:45 PM #33
In my opinion, the Best Blackberry of all time has been the Bold 9000. The bigger screen, the great keyboard, the form factor and battery life, etc. It was faster and better in all aspects than all of the other BB phones at the moment and the ones before it. Even after the 97xx came out many people didn't like the smaller screen and were wishing for an update of the 9000.
While the 9900 is actually a great phone, it doesn't offer all the good stuff in one place
like the 9000 did at the time. You'd have to go to other models which perform a particular function better.Thanked by:techsamaritan (06-21-2012)

Having been a Sprint customer for a long time, my selection was not as broad as others. At the time, my 8330 was a true workhorse with a great usable keyboard. Going from the Curve to my present 9650 was incredible. I love my 9650! If it weren't for the battery and no autofocus camera, I'd own a 9930. But the phone I'd jump on in a minute would be a CDMA 9790. It's like my 9650 on steroids with a decent battery and the same camera as my 9650. I was so disappointed when I heard the 9790 was GSM only.
Why is it that when your contract commitment is up, the phone you always wanted is now old and the phone you now want won't be out until the next quarter?
Curve 8330 4.5.0.131 -> Bold 9650 6.0.0.706 Plus not one but two totally awesome kickin' Playbooks -

9860 all the way! (y)
The best. Great for the touchscreen lover who doesn't want to switch to plastic crap.

Mine hands down is the Bold 9780! It combines the amazing battery life with a good keyboard and alright up to date software. OS 6 isn't night and day from OS 7. Therefore you get a good experience with a amazing keyboard and superb battery life! Oh, and it's compact too! (:

9700 FTW
It has the best battery life which is my first priority when choosing phone - 06-23-2012, 07:08 AM #39
9930 for me. I had no issues with my 8330 or 9650 though. Good devices.

even though I currently own a 9900, I voted for the 9000. I like "big" phones, and this is the only blackberry, apart from my current 9900, that has decent audio quality, decent screen size & darn good QWERTY keypad (typing is excellent).

In my experience it'll have to be the 9900. Best looking / fastest to do things on & touch screen too

The Bold 9000 is still one of the finest smartphones ever released. I'll never understand why RIM went three years abandoning the original Bold styling in favor of the Tour-like 9650, etc. models, because the original Bold still just oozes class, looks totally unique among smartphones, and has one of the best mobile keyboards ever crafted. Even the 9900 doesn't feel quite as luxurious.
- 06-23-2012, 12:30 PM #46
Not to mention, the 9000 had a SOLID dock process for bedside mode and the best sound from the sound ports than any of the new BBs or other devices, for that matter. Everything today is 'tinny' compared to the Original Bold.
BLACKBERRY!! YUUUUUUUPPPPP! - 06-23-2012, 06:01 PM #48
9900. The most solid of all BBs. IMO it is the proper successor to the 9000. Even has a mediocre camera like the 9000, because the other things just makes it The BB.
I'd leather all over its back if I had one. Make it feel more like the very-amazing-when-it-first-came-out 9000. - 06-24-2012, 10:02 PM #49
Bold 99xx hands down! Its the only Blackberry out that can compete with other phones out there. Its thin, and has the touch+trackpad+keyboard in classic Blackberry form.
Carrying around anything older in 2012 and beyond should be against the law
- 06-25-2012, 12:28 PM #50
Resurrection....
I would vote 8700 had it been an option.
