have you gone to appworld and tried to uninstall from there?
no i never have had that problem. only slightly similar thing i had an issue with was after installing a bbm update the icon was moved into a folder that i chose to hide. from the home screen hit the menu button and select show hidden icons and browse around in the folders and see if the icon was just moved.twitter: @eve6er69_chris - 12-11-2012, 10:00 AM

BBM update issues
Try seeing if external blackberry tools detect the app?
If not, maybe try a full wipe-restore?
Oh wait, have you tried rebooting?

Try connecting the BB to your PC & open the DM. See if it shows up there under application.
Edit: Found another thread of someone with the same issue.

Go here http://rroyy.com/otaarchive/ and download an older version of bbm and hopefully you can get it back.

When you say it won't let you uninstall, if you mean from AppWorld, you're right. But Setup --> Options --> Device --> Application Management should get you a list of applications. Let it populate, then find the Blackberry Messenger listing and tap it. You'll go to a page for the BBM app with a delete button. That's on OS7.1. The route to get there in OS6 or 7.0 may be a little different, but similar.
