Without actually seeing pictures, it sounds like the 3 different models you're talking about are the Dev Alpha A, Dev Alpha B, and the 'finalised' Z10.
The latter is the one you can expect to see announced on launch day, the other 2 were test units for app developers.

I am torn between the Dev Alpha A and BlackBerry Z10 design; the Dev Alpha A looks like a miniature BlackBerry PlayBook.

So the new phone being launched is without the keyboard? It's just total touch screen?

The first BB10 phone to be launched, the Z10, will be all touch, closely followed by the qwerty version, the X10. Just Google X10 or N series for pictures.

There isn't any real rumblings out there about a slider; but, if I know my alphabet, there is a letter between x and z (and between l(ondon) and n(evada) for that matter, where the m(ilan) is a slider device), and if you really want to get abstract, you could take a semiotic approach and say that the letter y is similar to the torch slider design.
    Coincidence??!!?!?!?
    Lol....
