Biggest technology flops of 2012 | Digital Crave - Yahoo! - 12-18-2012, 06:47 PM #2
Of course it's a 2012 flop. It's not out until 2013, lol. Derp! In other news, Yahoo doesn't have any room to talk about tech flops -- they are one.
Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up.

The Samsung Time Machine will be the biggest flog of 2013, followed by BMW's 9 Series Space Car

BB are only a flop because they only changed their CEO once, not twice like yahoo lmao.
also the bmw 4 series seems not a flop but kinda pointless, id rather an i8 any day of the week

Yahoo talking about tech flops is like Rosie O'Donnell making a Top 10 list of over-weight celebrities.

Not surprising this is coming from one of the the biggest tech flops of 2012 (Yahoo)
--- Smartphone ---
Current: Apple iPhone 4S (16GB)
Next: BlackBerry 10 Q15 (The Ultimate BlackBerry)
--- Tablet ---
Current: None

Seems like a bit of a liberal definition of 'flop'.
One usually reserves that for a product that came out with high expectations and didn't move anywhere near those expectations. ie. Cutthroat Island costs $100 million to make but pulls in $3 million at the box office.
BlackBerry 10 hasn't even come out. I suppose since the PlayBook was a 2011 product, it was ineligible for their criteria. Personally, I would have put that Google Nexus Q in there in place of an unreleased product.Thanked by:Bold_until_Hybrid_Comes (12-19-2012)

Calling an unreleased product a flop because of a delay is ridiculous. They're just trying to stir controversy in an effort to become relevant again.

BB10 on the list for the Biggest Technology Flops for 2012
Yahoo drives me insane. Cant believe they are still around. Other than CEO Marissa looking hot, the whole company sucks.

Guys, OMG did you hear?!?! Christmas is only gonna happen in 2012. 2013 Christmas has been called off, so sucks for blackberry missing that lucrative Xmas shopping season that will never ever happen again.
I'm curious though, if BB10 is a 2012 flop, what happens if it sells well in 2013? Will Victor Alvarez make a biggest flop revival list? Can something be called a success if it has already flopped before release? - 12-19-2012, 07:07 PM #15

BB10 on the list for the Biggest Technology Flops for 2012
No. It was Apple Maps that made the list actually. Along with Google Nexus Q and Microsoft Surface, Windows 8 and a healthy list of others. There were quite a few relevant tech companies on the list so one could argue that RIM is in good company here. They won the "Broken Promises Award" for delays with BB10. Title is much worse that the article itself and doesn't directly call BlackBerry a "flop" aside from their inclusion in a list with a misleading heading.
