Of course, owning a Z10 I haven't missed all the hype about the keyboard. But the truth is, I don't think it's even that great. The predictive text only slows you down, and it's kinda annoying to have all these words flying all over the keyboard anyway. And compared to the iPhone keyboard, I was surprised to find out that the BlackBerry auto correct is actually inferior! My Z10 cannot correct similar words such as 'eat' and 'ear' the way iPhone somehow can. I find that typing on the iPhone requires a lot less going back and fixing spelling mistakes. And with iOS 7 boasting two-word corrections, will it's keyboard actually become better than BlackBerry's? Perhaps my use of slang words messed up the 'your phone learns the way you type' thing, and I've never heard anyone else complain about it so maybe it's just me.

I think the Z10 keyboard is great. It is the only reason made me opt for Z10 instead of the Q10 which btw was launched later and i was too eager to wait for it. I was apprehensive of the touchscreen keyboards but the Z10's is by far the best.

I concur. Considering I am not a native English speaker. I find the Z10 doing a great job at auto correcting both English and Filipino even when used at the same time. I hardly have to go back and correct words.

I've used a Z10 since launch here and my wife has the iPhone 5. I couldn't tell you the number of times she has to go back and re-type things. Almost to the point she wants to throw it out the window. I love the virtual keyboard but I'm loving my Q10 more as of this past Monday. :-)

Well I cannot agree with you. I own an iPad 4th and a Z10, and by far the Z10 is a lot better.

I'm constantly switching between french and English and my Z10 is just awesome.
Even if I know for sure that I mistype letters I just keep typing and it does the appropriate corrections almost all the time.
If you had ever try typing in French (or any other languages) on iPhone, you would had find that turning the auto correction off is almost a must, otherwise it just keep replacing words the you spell correctly (language set to french obviously).
Then it became just a dummy keyboard. Also typing a special characters (or numbers) on Z10 is quite easy, while you must switch the keyboard mode first on iPhone / iPad, then switch it back to keep typing.

- Most of french iPhone/iPad/iPod owners that I know here has their auto correction turned OFF.
- Every Z10 owner that I known always keep their auto correction ON

I'm critical as hell with a lot of bb10 things but the z10 keyboard is not one of them. It's absolutely second to none. They only way it could be better would if it had swipe functionality for the people that like it.

It's awesome, but I don't have auto correction on, because I type in Spanish, French, English, Dutch and (The Curaao language) Papiamento and the Z can't handle the Papiamento :P

What I do keep loving about this keyboard every passing day, is that it actually learns most of my Papiamento words in the correct order of usage and suggest them so I can swipe them up! Can't beat that with any other phone!

I wasn't overly impressed with the Z10 keyboard either. I am faster with my Nexus 4 keyboard. I think that is mostly because the keys are larger. The main problem I have with the Z10 keyboard is the inconsistencies. For example, got really used to using auto text (aka word substitution) and then discovered that many of the apps I use won't work with it. Including BlackBerry's own apps such as Gtalk. That causes me to have to adjust my typing style depending on which app I'm using. I've also noticed that BlackBerry 10 seems to hate correcting errors after a while. I used to type out lots of things in the remember app. My errors would get underlined, but pushing on the underlined word wouldn't always offer a corrected word. Even with typos as simple as "alweys". The "it works sometimes" effect screws up everything because the experience isn't consistent.

Also, I wish BlackBerry 10 had a built in Emoji keyboard. 🙉🙊🙈🙌🌹🌊⛄🙋





That isn't a 3rd party app. It just built into my keyboard. I rarely ever use it, but it is nice to have for when I do want to use it.
