    No. The icon is still present in the OS, just not shown on the home screen

    Let it also be known that any memory gains from not loading a 10x10 icon would be rather insignificant.

    While an icon is highlighted hit the menu button and there is an option for hide.

    What I wonder is how you un-hide an icon.

    Unhide by selecting the hide option to uncheck it

    While in the main menu, press MENU > select Show All > highlight the shaded icon you wish to unhide and press MENU again > uncheck Hide > press MENU again > uncheck Show All.

    All themes will have a main screen with at least a few icons. You cannot hide these. You can change which icons appear on this screen (in most standard themes) but you cannot hide them.
