I have read the threads on this and have not found these answers.

    1. I know that you need to have the computer the is running bb unite on to get emails, can I just leave all my accounts on my bis so I can get them all the time?
    2. How in depth is the it policy?

    Thanks.

coop, BB Unite is sort of a personal BES.
It gives you the ability to control up to
5 phones remotely. It does however install
an IT policy and locks the firewall. The
computer you install it on must always be
on or the phone(s) you set up will have
    no browser ability.

If you ever uninstall it, prepare for a couple
of hours of wiping, OS reinstalls and such.

Ok thanks. I will have to look in to removing a IT policy before I decide to install it or not. Thanks amazing.

See I want to install this app too, but I am curious as well regarding the IT policy. Isn't there a way to modify the files before intstalling on to your pc or bb???

I think you can modify the firewall before you install it on your bb, but not after that. My only problem is that my laptop is not as reliable as my bb, so I don't know how well it would function if I had it on all the time

I do not believe there is a way to modify
how the program sets up. It does what it does.

And as to the reliability of the PC, let's take that
out of the equation for a sec.

Think power outages. As long as it lasts, you are
    dead in the water.

Yeah, being tied to my home PC doesn't sound very enticing seeing as all mine are laptops!

Me too. My laptop does always have a battery in it, but my laptop freezing is what I'm worried about. Do you guys think it is worth installing?

Laptop battery - good. But your router / modem are
powered, that's what I was getting at.

Having gone through Unite, and uninstalling it because
it wasn't what I need and then inheriting the problems
that that caused I would say no. But as always, I'm
one opinion, just make sure you keep the "Remove IT Policy"
    threads handy. Just in case.

What problems have you had once you uninstalled unite? I don't think I will install it. I mess up my berry enough without an it policy to worry about.

Well, once uninstalled from the PC,
I got no email, and both browser icons
    vanished.

It took hours to get rid of the IT policy.
AND THEN, I had to load a beta 4.5 to get
JL_CMDER to perform a reset to factory
to unlock my firewall, so that I could get
    internet capability back.

    Then uninstall beta, reload 4.2.2.194,
    restore from backup...
    Just a massive pain.
