    I still have Blackberry Messenger on my phone but missing the icon. I wanted to download the new 5.0 but afraid to do so. i've checked applications and Blackberry messenger is still there but any advice would help. Thanks. Oh btw, all of my stuff is backed up just in case on BB Desktop Manager (whew)

    BBM can be reloaded through the DM. BBM2 requires you to be running an OS of at least 4.5.0.160

    has anyone had managed to use the blackberry messenger 5.0 in bold with OS 5.0? how how to install it, whether by using the desktop manager or ota ?

    That would depend on the 5.0 build that you have loaded. The currently leaked BBM2 will not work on any build 5.0.0.15X or newer.

    I'm running BBM2 just fine with 4.5.0.131. Have been for over a month now.
