I have a problem working messenger with a friend who has a Curve (thru AT&T). My BB is the 8703e (thru Verizon). We have both downloaded messenger onto our BB's. In my contact list, I've "added" her, but she is showing as "unavailable" on my screen. On hers, she shows as "available" and she IS able to message w/ another coworker who is also on AT&T, just not with me. Anyone know what we are doing wrong? Thanks!

If you've tried a battery pull and its still showing up as unavailable even tho both of you are, Then there might be something wrong with the messenger you downloaded. But you can always send and receive messages even if she is unavailable.

try to remove her, as a contact, and have her remove you. Then send her an invite again. Happened once for me, and that fixed it...

Same thing happen with me and a buddy, but we were both on the same network.
We both deleted and re-invited all is good.
One thing, when you re-invite, do so as a pin instead of via e-mail. seems to work better.

Without reading the entire thread, let me say this...

The name you select when you go to BlackBerry Pin Messenger / Menu / Edit My Info must NOT have special characters or spaces! IF it does, you'll have this issue, especially on Pearl devices...

I get a message that says something like ' decryption failure, regenerate key" when I try to send a message to her.

I don't have the PIN option. When I go to add her, it only gives the email option

Do you have her pin# in her contact info?
If so Highlight the contact you wish to add, DON'T open it, click menu, and there will be an option to e-mail or pin

to do pin adding instead of email... when you are on the menu that is shows "by email" hit the menu button(one to the left of the trackball), it will bring up the option to add as pin. PM if u need me to walk you through it, ill be at my computer most of the day !

While in BlackBerry Pin Messenger, go to menu / add contact, SCROLL TO THE TOP (use once), press MENU / Request By Pin...
