Does anyone know whether the price of the Curve will go down with the release of the new BB devices (Bold and Javelin, right?) I'm dying to purchase a Curve but would wait if the price change is significant.

    Thanks!

I think the Curve prices are already pretty low. I mean, I only payed $70 for mine with an early upgrade, not even a "new every two" discount. Christmas time you will definitely see a price drop though.

You can only hope they will. If they do, it might not be a low, low price. Good luck though

The price will drop for sure. By how much? Who knows?

Most carriers will try to unload most of their Curve stock into the corporate market, in bulk.

There is also an opportunity to sell data plans to the public via a cheap phone and this is where you can score.

Carriers do not really care about phones, they care about money and minutes sold and this is where they may well use the Curve hardware as a loss leader.

A month or so after the carriers drop Curve prices, you should see ebay prices drop too.

I would guess that after Christmas you will see some really good deals.

I wonder why the prices would drop? Is the Curve becoming older? Because I thought, like everyone wanted a Curve! If ATT is about to release ANOTHER Curve, and there is yet another Sprint Nextel version in the works, that tells me no, it's not.

From my experience, during Christmas is the best time to shop for new cell phones. Usually the more expensive phones will see a bigger drop in price in term of %.

i got my Curve for $100 a month ago.

Certain customers of VZW can upgrade to a Curve for free if they're a qualified VIP member.

My other line, which is eligible to a $50 NE2 credit can get the Curve for $50.

I picked mine up through bestbuy.com a few weeks ago for $29.99 with a new contract. I don't know if that offer is still available though.

Edit: AT&T is offering the red curve for free with a 2yr contract right now through bestbuy.com
