Hello All,

I am completely new to this forum and I have really only joined to try and get help with a particular issue that my wife is having with her phone. We are on the T-Mobile network and my wife purchased an unlocked Curve 8310, which had originally been an AT&T phone. It has worked fine for a few months but yesterday she was trying to send a photo via sms text messaging and her phone locked up. It continues to display the same message "JVM Error 517 Reset" We've removed and replaced the battery several times and that's not working. I did some Googling and determined that I most likely need to re-install the OS. The problem is I am not sure which OS version the phone had to begin with and I'm also not sure if the fact that the phone was originally an AT&T phone and now is "unlocked" and being used on T-Mobile has any bearing on which OS I should try to install?

I am hoping that someone here can help me with this. Thanks in advance.

It does not matter which OS you install, as long as it is for the phone in question (8310.) Also, locked vs. unlocked status doesn't matter.

If you want to install the latest OS, this is probably it.
