Hey, I just got my BB 8820, and it is amazing. When I open BB maps and I try to set my position it can find me, and it can tell me my speed when I am in my car, however, it does not show me any MAP!!!!, it just show me cross lines, I zoomed put and in, but there is not streets, or anything like that. Can anyone please tell what is wrong with it, should I download the U.S maps from somewhere and pay for them?, please let me know.

You have to have a data plan and a cell phone signal. BBMaps downloads the maps in real time using your data plan, through the cell towers. No plan or no signal means no maps. You can't download the maps in advance with BBMaps.

There is a 3rd party app called TrekBuddy that's designed to be used in areas where you don't have a cell signal. It allows you to download maps and store them on a Media Card. I haven't used it. You can find more info on it in this forum.
