Installed the leaked 10.3 BlackBerry OS last night and after a full charge I played YouTube clips for 8 hrs straight and still had 20% battery life left. Before I could only get 2 hours max. Amazing! Well done BlackBerry!

My Z10 is just for installing leaks but this latest 10.3 is tons better than the first one. The first 10.3 would drain my battery about 6% an hour without even using it. This one sucks the juice a fraction of that.

It will take a lot more than a person or two to convince me it's gotten that much better, can you show us ur device monitor for the battery. I'm assuming 10.3 not including air is helping with the software optimization and battery life in general eh??

The problem with posting Device Monitor pictures for the battery is it only gives you a snap shot at that given time. For example if you have just opened youtube it will considerably drop the battery but then once it's opened and settled and you play something the battery levels out, each time you make a change it alters the battery status sometimes considerably.

I think what the thing is here is not everyone has the same Apps, Settings, Device usage as others so it's impossible to compare or either confirm or deny the battery life is poor on the Z10 with any OS.

For example
I have the following:
BT - Disabled
LTE - Disabled
NFC - Disabled
Location Based Ads - Disabled
Data Traffic Collection - Disabled
No Apps left open (Once I have used an App I close it using the X)

So you can probably draw the conclusion that with these off my battery life will improve considerable due to not having many background services/Apps running here.

Also as far as I know from the BlackBerry Developer site Adobe Air is not included with 10.3.1 onwards but it is part of the 10.3.0 OS.

Fair enough op I hear what you are saying about the device monitor, well as I said it'll take a lot more than a few people to convince use the new OS actually does improve battery significantly. Time will tell eh

Yes, I like to listen to Lawrence Krauss you tube lectures at night. I usually can listen for an hour before I fall asleep but the clips continue to play one after another. I slept just about 8 hours and when I woke up the clips were still playing and I had 20% battery life left. I was shocked but pleasantly so.

Correct, it was an app I use called supertube. But even so, I could only go for about two hours before the battery would drain previously.

Believe it or not, I'm not here to convince anyone to install a leak, only to share my findings.
It's up to you to do your own trial.

Agree. I read these when every single OS came out and my battery life is still pretty terrible lol. I'm sure optimizations have been made but I'm not holding my breath

Of course you do realise that others will post that since upgrading to 10.3 their battery usage has gotten worse. Seems like a roller coaster ride for the Z10 battery, but glad yours seems to be better anyway. ; )

Personally, my battery life on my Z10 has been more than acceptable during the 15 months I've had the phone.

10.3 is what BlackBerry should have had ready to go for the Z10 when it first launched. It's fully baked. I'm really impressed with it.

I'm countering the statement made. I've seen these threads pop up with every leak and apart from one of the 10.1 ones battery life has actually not improved at all.
By making this statement he has put out a perception that I want clarification on before I accept it.
Hope that clears that up for you.

Did you took that snapshot hours after you install 10.3?
Well I'm just asking because I had the same fate. Its gotten worse but I don't wanna downgrade it because I just like this leak version.
