What a silly post. Why would the world be thriving on BBs if they faced so many problems. Some people dont think before posting.

Funny, he doesn't have time to check his replies or get on forums, but he has time to register, sign in, AND enter his phone info (which happens to be a Curve as stated by hairrtiz). Sounds almost like he has too much time, and not enough intelligence to cover it.
He must be a NEW IT guy because and good IT guy and find a way to get the problem solved. BB may not work with all servers but there is a way to make it work for you.

Also this guy should tell every one not to buy computer because vista does not work well with servers or anything else at the moment. Lol

Yeah, they all need to switch to Linux anyways. I would LOVE to sit this guy down in front of a Linux server, or desktop for that matter, and watch what he does! lol
I hate Vista.
so do i. came on my laptop and everything works fine so far. I normally like to tinker with everything i get, but this time im going with the phrase, "It isn't broke, don't mess with it!"
The memory footprint is huge, and that's not a good thing! And it's still having compatibility issues with things.
i know, but finding drivers that work with xp for my laptop, and reinstalling all my apps, is a bigger pain than dealing with Vista's flaws. As for the memory footprint, the only things i have running at startup is AVG and MS Sync Center(Which I can't get rid of), and i have 2gb of memory. i haven't had any real problems yet. Compatibility improved slightly with SP1, some apps (such as Diablo 2) all i have to do is disable Desktop Composition.
Another classic case of user error shifting blame on the device. If you cant work the Berry then you are as much a mental midget as your post suggests. Go back to your iPhony forums. BYE BYE NOW.
this thread is jokes...he obviously does not get the irony...ah well more entertainment for us

mijamtm,
I totally agree with the second paragraph of your post. I could not have said it any better!
BTW, I wasn't going to waste my time replying to this moron's post.
Keep on Crackin',

He didn't leave a valid email address did he:):) Kevin, if so please let us know:)
lmao @ "mental midget"
And yea, that comma thing annoyed me too.
Yea, my mom has a laptop (wish she would have talked to me before buying) that has Vista and only 512MB of RAM, for vista it's AWFUL, it runs so slow. On my old computer ran XP perfectly with 256MB! I hope they get the kinks out of Vista at some point.
hey, I thought the other one is: their kids lol
Wow, I log on to find something to read and come across this, good point, no time to post stuff like this but, I have enough time to register, prolly draft this up, read it, make sure its on a forum full of Crackberry addicts then...blam! My plan is complete, lol what a trip.
Dude, that is why they called you to install it. If it was easy, and every joe blow could do it, they will do it themselves. There is no need to hire "IT professional" like you to do for them.
Also regarding the Tech support, r u sure you are not calling the Indian government hotline?:D
Not sounding to be harsh, but before you called your self "Professional" have you double-, triple-, quadruple-checked your credentials/ experiences?
Nowadays, too many people called them self "professional" without the right background.
Like a few days ago, some dude and a very cute gal in the mall approached me and begin spouting about insurance service Primerica or something.
Since the Girl is very cute, I tried to listen :p and try to help her out since it was her training, bla...bla..blah.
The dude claiming to be a "Professional" Financial Adviser and her manager and try to help me with my financial future.
When I asked the "manager" what is his qualification for claiming to be "Professional" Financial Adviser and what proof that he could show me, he started to hi, he, ** & hum,, tried to steer the conversation away and started talking about the benefit of their insurance policy.
I was thinking," WTF? R u trying to steal my identity or what?" I don't know you from Adam (and Eve), and you want me to tell you about my financial history?
after more questionings, he finally "confessed" me that he just got his license a few months back ( 6 or 7 months ago).
and he actually said" you look and sound very intelligent" and then the mofo proceed with how much money I could be making and actually offering me a " business opportunity".
I was" WTF?" so I just told him to get lost..
Too bad I did not get the girl number.:(
wow, this thread is still alive?
I just had to say, after reading you guys defending your blackberries.. is just so beautiful <3333
LOL. have had the same problems. (PPL not asking and the low memory!) Vista runs "OKAY" with 2 GB. If you wanna run it with NO lag problems, it would be best to get 4 GB.

I have had my A+ PC Technician certification since '06 and I barely consider myself a pro. I've worked on many peoples' computers, but I've never worked for a company.
I refer to the original post by ktell. While I disagree with the tone and manner of the posting, I do have a degree of empathy.
As SysAd, I was asked to install BES on our company's SBS 2003 server. I am not a I.T. 'professional', but nevertheless consider myself to be at least competent in installing and maintaining most network client and server software. I am forced to admit that the Blackberry BES installation proved to be the most complex I have ever undertaken. It's still incomplete at this point incidentally, (but nearly there).
Words of advice to anyone commited to a Blackberry installation:
1. Pay whatever you need to for an an experienced specialist installer to do the job.
2. Allow a day for installation, and expect two or three server reboots.
3. Ensure plenty of free disk space.
4. Allow for purchasing more server RAM
5. Don't try to install to a server more than about 2 years old.
6. Ensure there's no pre-existing server or network issues.
7. Don't let the installer leave until EVERYTHING is working and the network SysAdmin has been briefed
8. Don't buy Blackberry (only kidding, honest)
Unlike the original poster, I do intend to return here, so please try to be kind to me. I'll probably be back to find answers to configuration and maintenance issues.
LOL! Another one that doesn't understand the Berry addiction..... someone should put this guy in a room for 2 days with a BB and he won't be able to put it down afterwards....
Okay???? Why i didn't read through this whole thread i must say that i am a IT professional and we are running a BES server here with zero problems. Not sure what he is doing wrong but we currently have about 60 users. its connected to 2003 exchange server.
On another note we also have a goodlink server that has about 30-40 users on it that all of our employees who use there palm devices. Now we do not recommend they go out and get a palm and use goodlink. We try to encourage them to use BB as they are easier to maintain and use.
Sounds like this guy just had a bad experience or didn't understand how to install it....oh well
