Anybody know what the patents covering auto dial from a website or email are?
Obviously, someone has patents covering this or we would have it on bb10.
What I'm wondering is if it's the discovery or numbers or the action invoked when clicking that's patented.
Could BlackBerry bypass such a patent by running the number through the clipboard?
Ie. Sense number on site, copy number to clipboard, open phone app, paste number. User might still have to click dial but that's ok.

I have this on my OS7 BlackBerry. Isn't it on the BB10? I imagine that email links cannot be patented because they are usually hyperlinks (tagged "mailto:") and so a core part of any browser. But the fact that the phone number is recognized in the browser and presented in a way that launches the phone dialer... Maybe that is worth a patent.
