I signed for 2 years contract w ATT with 3 blackberries .Now they charging me for unlimited messaging for the whole family $ 30 /month + $ 90 for 3 blackberry phones for BB data plans .Is there any overlaps ?

BB Data plan gives you access to BB Messenger and PIN and other BB ONLY features. In order to have push email on your BBs you have to have a BB data plan as well.
There is no "family data" plan that will cover all smartphones either, and BBs are now required to have a BB plan.
