are t-mo and indonesia using the same 3G band?
coz i'm planning to buy 9700 in indonesia and use it in the U.S. with t-mo as the provider.

It may or may not. Looks like Indonesian carriers use 3G 2100Mhz. Both versions of the 9700 support this band, so you're going to have to find out if the one sold there supports 1700mhz used by T-Mobile USA.
Even if you don't you will just fall back to EDGE.
