Is there an easy button, or reprogrammable button or even software that would allow me to close an application....completely and not hide it.

If one of my applications is not closed, but still running in the background, it drains my battery life...quickly.

I have to open each application and close it properly just to find the one or two that are still open so that I can be sure they are all closed.

    I have a curve 8330, sprint.

I push the red button, but this just closes the application on the desktop and keeps it running.... i would like to close the application and have it truly exited and closed with a simple button.

Or some software that would quickly show me what applications are running....perhaps it is already possibly...I just need pointed in the right direction.

What application are you speaking of?

When you hit alt - esc (right of the trackball) you should see 5 apps that will always run. Home screen, browser, phone/call log, bbm and messages. Any other app that you see is running as well. To properly close apps use menu>close..

Tre is right. You can also hit app switcher to see if any additional apps are open.

Has there been any findings on known apps that will drain battery life?
