There is a general sentiment that BB World is lacking a LOT of apps. So, I was looking at Google Play / Android app store's top FREE apps. You can see them here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/c...opselling_free

It seems like we either have those apps already on BB World or have a decent alternative for them. The only notable misses are NetFlix, Instagram.

For all others, we have them or we have some alternative. And even these can be sideloaded in 10.1. I am guessing that sideload would work even better in 10.2 as it supports Android 4.2 run-time with hardware acceleration.

So, realistically, come 10.2 OS and we won't have much of app-gap left to be filled.

    FYI:
Here are the top 50 I found at Play Store:
    1. Facebook
    2. Descpicable Me

You won't get everything to work when sideloading though. I wouldn't count on 10.2 solving the app problem.

    Removed the non-apps.
Highlighted the apps that are currently available, in the Hub or redundant (why would you want a less capable browser).

The key is, go to the makers of these apps and request a BB10 version. Some of these apps already have many requests in the appropriate spots. The problem with most of the apps not available is the lack of an open API to allow someone else to create the app.

Some of the popular location-based social/service Android apps require Google services (namely... Google maps). If we can somehow get around this (like by modifying the apk/bar to instead call on a side-loaded version of Google maps), then it would be huge.

Like Howarmat said, some of these don't work. Some worked for me and then stopped working for some reason. Also, app necessity won't be the same for everyone. I don't play games, but I have a need for littler known apps that aren't popular but provide function to my daily life. So for that reason I think the number of QUALITY apps is very important.

There are plenty of entertainment apps. There needs to be more productivity apps like Lync, One Note, Sky drive and Salesforce. This is being marketed as the phone for the hyper productive. If so that is where the focus needs to be.
