Has anyone used Garmin GPS map on blackberry? is it better than the google map?
Google maps, and the Garmin GPS are two entirely different programs.
While the new Google maps will give you "directions", it does not give you turn by turn navigation and other features of a true GPS navigation program.
Personnally for GPS, I prefer TeleNav (over Garmin), and I also use Google Maps for other things.
patricks right apples and oranges the garmin app is nice its pretty much just like the one my wife has in the car but for me its not worth a monthly fee of i think 10 bucks. when google maps will do
i have found you can dl the free 1 month trial delete it a few days before it expires and download it again and it starts all over
its worked for me 3 times now?
Does Garmin map look clear on blackberry?
You really need to d/l the trial and judge for yourself.
Clear to one person may be all effed up to another
Yeah, as he said, you have to see for yourself.
BTW, the Garmin GPS is now available for a one-time $99, vs. the monthly fee.
I still prefer TeleNav, and $9/month is worth it to me to have current map data etc.
I tried to use Garmin but it's not compatible with the Verizon Pearl... awwwhh shucks
I have it and use it often on my 8310. I have had several Garmin GPSs over the last few years so I went with it. It is just like their GPS units' displays, clear and very usable.
I was surprised at how well it receives the GPS signal inside the car. I thought I would have to hold it up by the window, but it sits in the cup holder and navigates fine.
I haven't used the others so I can't compare, but I am total satisfied.
I gues as mentioned, its different strokes for different fokes. Garmin is great for me as I have never had an issue with it.
