In the past 24 hours I saw 2 Passport Advertising on Youtube. I couldn't fine the ad video on the BlackBerry page but they were short, nothing brilliant but got right to the point.

I haven't seen a BlackBerry advertisement in over 3 years. Yes... I missed the stupid ad (read Super Bowl).

You consider Youtube, an advertising attempt? I guess it shows how desperate we have become.

I have not seen the YouTube ad, but I applaud any effort to get the word out. Asymmetrical advertising on better than no advertising at all. People cannot buy a product that they do not even know is still being produced.

That's my thought. I don't consider You Tube a real advertising medium.

Actual commercials on TV, billboards along the highway, that's where I want to see something happen.

I had wondered if it was only me! Have seen three adverts so far in the last coupe days, two for the Passport and one for BES. Good to see BlackBerry back advertising with some short ads!

How so? Youtube reaches out to over 1 billion people. Cable company are struggling and TV are on the brink of extinction if they don't evolve. Cable company are raising the price of TV subscription because of the continuous cancellations. Because of the high bills, most people would cut cost by sacrificing their cable bills over internet bills. I haven't subscribed to cable for over 15 years and have found everything I have ever wanted to watch and more is on the internet.

Highways are effective for mainly the service industry like hotel, restaurants, amusement parks and other retailers.

Should I go on with paper prints?

I wonder if, to begin with, BlackBerry is doing targeted marketing based on search history? I haven't seen the ads, but am glad to hear something is happening, however small.

OP, lots of youtube commercials cater to ones searches, it's owned by Google. You've probably searched blackberry videos in the past.

And nobody comes across YouTube ads anymore, Internet Explorer is such a crappy platform. The most popular browsers are Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari (because of the sheer number of Mac users) , the former two which have the most popular plugin in adblock.

if you do a lot of googling for a product it show up in every ad everywhere, this isn't BlackBerry marketing, it's Google. But no, I've not seen any BlackBerry advertising anywhere...

Haven't seen it, but it is good they are doing "something". Just wonder what tracking cookie on your system they used to target that ad to you. That is the problem with targeted marketing.... most the time you reach people that already have your product and not the ones that don't even know about you.

FWIW - I saw the ads when I was watching YouTube on my PS3.

Wondering if any of the media streaming boxes such as Apple TV, Roku, Chromecast, Fire TV have any type of ad-block features?
