My Z10 is still plagued with many text issues including a blank conversation, sms not working at all and often freezing. I just wanted to know if anybody else might still have these problems as well. Then hopefully we can get someone from CrackBerry to put out another article alerting BB the problem is still major and needs to be fixed asap.

Yes. Sms will freeze. Be blank. Hangs. Or pull up wrong conversation when trying to reply to an existing chat.
Normally the error will correct itself after waiting for 2-5 minutes and not touching the keyboard while waiting.
It's annoying.

Happens to me too. Find that touching the blank screen at least brings texts up. The hang problem is harder to get around. Go into hub and hit refresh. A friend suggested it may be that I have too many texts and need to erase chats. Any thoughts?

This may be the case, as chats can end up holding a huge amount of data, especially if there are MMSs' in there also.
Prior to deleting a Chat you may wish to save it, so
an easy 'on device' solution is to choose "Copy Chat" and save it as a note in the Remember App.
Of course with picture msgs you have to save the images separately.
This fixed slow a loading txt Chat for me once.

Its been happening to both mine and my gf's Q10s and our spare Z10 we switched back to also is having the issue, its getting bad enough she is talking about switching to a galaxy phone, she is tired of the glitches and failures, and he interest is peaked about android now.

Question for the OP and others with this issue - have you loaded any leaks?

I did have this issue after loading one of the leaks. I thought loading the next leak would fix it - no good. The only thing that finally fixed it for me was doing a security wipe, reloading the leak and then, most importantly, not restoring from backup. This was critical as it was the backup that was causing my problems.

A bit of a pain to have manually re-enter my passwords - but if you get firechest backup you can avoid that.

Same here, you gotta wait for the text msg loading for 3 mins to load up sometime if you open a chat over few hundreds msg which **** me off sometime. It start happening after the very first MR update no fix till now...

Wife had the same issue. Had to delete some chat threads that were a mile long. Works fine now. Another good reason to switch to BBM

Same issues on mine freezing or having to wait for ever for it to load or not at all, my fix is to now open task manager and **** down the text app then just reopen a text and so far so good. Still this NEEDS to be fixed! No leaks or anything, if my 9900 could keep more texts then my z10 I'm disappointed.

I really don't understand how BB could screw up text messaging, a basic function with one of their updates and not fix it. Their own employees must have this problem too.

Yes. I have a Q10 and would get this SMS issue only with people for whom I have 100's of texts saved. Works almost perfectly fine now, after deleting the entire conversations. Loading is almost perfect.

My z10 texts won't delete either!! It's driving me nuts!! When i go in to the message it comes up blank so looking like I'm going to compose a new message...i sooooooo wish I'd upgraded from my old blackberry to a Samsung rather than this!!!

Haven't been able to text or receive texted images for a few months now. My carrier says that BlackBerry is aware of the problem and that it should be fixed in the next update. I HOPE SO.

Yes it was only ever a short blinking effect for me, so I assumed it was the size of the chats which contained so many MMSs'.
Therefore I just deleted the threads.
I'm surprised that there's no option to limit the text message count in BB10 - as you'll find in some other OSs' because loading a ton of extra picture (and possibly sound files) every time you open TXT Msgs must be quite a hit on the device's memory.

I still have this problem every so often, and that's because I'm still on 10.1. It all started with the MR update from T-Mobile I did back in September. Really annoying.

Just found out today my daughters Z10 has similar issues as the op. Opens wrong chat, or opens it blank. Issue corrects by itself in 2-5 minutes or with a hub reset. Or if you go in and out of the chat a few times.

Must be an issue pulling in data, hopefully BlackBerry is aware and next update fixes it.

She is running 10.2.429.

Weird that a pretty big problem like this would not be solved already by BlackBerry. This is why people return their Z10's.

I've had texts hang on a blank screen fairly regularly. But this has not happened at all since upgrading to 10.2.1.1925.

There were also reports of message strings getting crossed with the wrong recipients and other strange behavior when the OS is upgraded and data is restored from a backup from an earlier version. Most if these issues were cleared up by deleting all active text strings.
