What's most interesting here is the percent of developer mindshare bb10 has lost in just one quarter. Over half!

If hardly anyone is on board now, when and why will they ever be?

Excellent!! Considering that BB10 is still a brand new but powerful platform this is a good sign indeed!

Wait a minute, I thought developing for BB was more profitable than for other platforms?

Can someone reconcile these apparently contradictory reports?

Which mobile OS apps make the most money? Blackberry.

Who cares about what the developers says their intentions are if they are still not actually doing anything? Fact is, they haven't been there and are even more few and far between now.

Just look at the other chart where you can see that "pay per app" is highest on Blackberry10. Other platforms have more Advertisement and as we all now, those platforms have far more users so far. So it isnt that bad considering the user base.

That other chart was from June 2012 and covered BBOS, not BB10.

It means "free for basic features, but you pay in-app to unlock advanced features."

Many games, such as Angry Birds, are freemium. You can play the early levels for free, but you have to pay to unlock the higher levels. It's become a very successful model for all kinds of apps, because people get to install it and use it and know it works well on their device, and they get the basics for free, so it makes them more likely to pay for the advanced version.
