Problem is trolls never think they are trolls. I admit I'm a huge BB/RIM 'fanboy'.

Best question ever, 'why are you here?'. I never ask it for me, I ask it for them. If they truly have the opinion BB/RIM sucks so much and have nothing useful to say they should use their time more wisely cause its a waste of everyones time if they are posting here.

I'd argue the hostilty at BB fans here is worse and perplexingly odd considering what I assume who this site is intended for. Check ou my sig for an example.

    BB10 is going to ROCK!
really? is this site meant purely for people who have unconditional love for bb? I believe it's meant for all stakeholders.

"why are you here". you like the mob mentality? going around telling people they don't belong in your "hood"? imo this is the exact kind of thing that has to be weeded out.

I think it depends on the tone of the post. If its trolling against BB the poster should be banned imo

This post seems agressive. You are making it uncomfortable for me here. Are you guilty of the same thing you are on a witch hunt for?

Stakeholders? Seriously, what are you talking about here. This is such an ubsurd word to me. You mean shareholder? Something I've read often is "These are phones people". How do you consider yourself a stakeholder? Cause you bought a phone?

If you are looking for mob mentality don't look any further then the typical debbie-downer, RIM can do no right poster and look how many likes they get, all by the exact same people ad naseum.

At second glance, do you know the meaning of "mob mentality"? Or do you mean mentality of those that are in the mob? There is a difference.

So honestly, why are you here? What do you like about BB10? BB7? RIM? or do you just want to complain about perceived agression towards yourself/others (please give specific examples) so people feel free to complain and ask whatever redundant question they want?

If Seinfeld can use it to describe a soup shop owner, and every forum from here to China uses it to describe people who comment about grammar and such, then it can also be used to describe someone who is very rigid about certain rules and regs.
Let's go on a search and destroy mission for every single time the word nazi has been used in this forum in the very same context.

****oh rats.....I just did a search on the forum and it came up with four pages of posts.....it will take a lot to remove all those instances.****

    Please.

Ok, The Black/Cubano/Mexican/Scott goes back to his recliner before the other ethnic references get tossed about to further try and validate racial intent that is not there for the referenced claim. you can easily turn the question around, why is it not rude to disregard all previous posts and ask questions that have been answered a hundred times over?
is that not a laziness by the poster and a lack of respect for all previous posts?
Many years ago (when online meant Compuserve) I started moderating on a technical forum which had had a simple rule. "The only dumb question is the one never asked". It doesn't cause any harm to the forum or other users if a question is asked many times, if a user needs information they are entitled to ask and they should get a civil reply even if it is only a one line pointer to where to find the answer.

In some cases at a practical level a poster may be unable to search or scan older forum content. I'm not sure how capable the new forum apps like Tapatalk are, but certainly anyone using an older BlackBerry with the stock browser is severely constrained. Only OS6 and later devices are in any way friendly on a graphics-intensive page and even then they tend to be unbearably slow if a cellular connection is less than perfect. It is reasonable to expect many will settle for starting a new thread simply because other options are too onerous or don't work.

The search feature isnt new to anyone. If your searching for answers or porn search hard enough and you will get what you want. This post is more about the hostility found on this board towards members for any given reason. It shouldnt be allowed, rude is not acceptable.

I think some of the necromancied (is that a word?) threads are hilariously shocking if you don't read carefully.....

There was something from 2009 and I kept thinking wow my Bold doens't do that....person was talking about a 9000 Bold, not a 9900 Bold....

    HOLY NECROMANCY BATMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It won't kill anyone to have a question asked again. Takes the same amount of effor to type "search the forums" as to provide content.

Somebody posted the lyrics from a dead thread and Branta banned the person but PK got him back along with the lyrics and we're all getting together to rehearse it so that we can sign it behind Ashley Esqueda next Monday.

For the OP of this topic, your replies are really... just part of the problem you are complaining about.

It is reasonable to expect many will settle for starting a new thread simply because other options are too onerous or don't work.
Well, I'm not a mod, so all I can say that if I WAS a mod, that might be acceptable when the internet was "new" but ignorance as an excuse then is apathy as an excuse now. I don't think Discussion Forum etiquette is a huge mystery to anyone who HAS participated in a discussion forum, and is an easily uncovered "mystery" to those who have not, provided we do OUR part to make it reasonably easy for them to do so.

Considering only the feelings of the "newbie" when the "newbie" doesn't necessarily care to consider the feelings of the "old-bie" is the definition of "sucker".

Back to the OPs point: I'm not sure I personally care if more people join CrackBerry.com, nor do I care if the miniscule minority of those offended by "please use the search function before you post" don't buy a BB10 device.

That said, I will try to be respectful and helpful to newbies, and hope everyone else will do the same.
