Some what off topic, but I remember all the stories of people coming from other OS's to get the new Z10 and also how the Z10 was being sold out at a lot of shops in the UK and other places. it just makes you realize, don't put to much stock in stories that may sound too good to be true until you actually have to real numbers behind them.

For me, that is what was so shocking about the official numbers that were released by Thor.

The lackluster sales of the Surface RT has more to do with Microsoft's failure to understand the mobile computing market and their place in it. Nobody really wants to use a Windows tablet (or phone for that matter) and they don't want to pay premium prices for a Microsoft product with an uncertain ecosystem.

Target marketing through advertising will raise brand awareness but ultimately end-users will purchase products on the basis of reputation and popularity. People can be easily manipulated by promotion and the image of a product - just ask Apple. They're able to manipulate their Pavlovian followers into buying anything the company makes whether it's good value or not.
