Address Book Question

My buddy has a VZW 8130 and everytime he clicks on his address book to search his contacts it shows that there are no contacts. He has to manually go into the options and change it to display by first name EVERY TIME. After he does this he can view his contacts. He has some contacts with just a first name, some with just a last name, some with both and some with just comany info. If he exits his contacts and goes back to them he has to do it all again. VZW tech support in store told him that it was just an issue with that phone and he would have to deal with it. Any ideas????

Check and make sure the filters for Business and Personal are both off. Other than that not sure.

Where do I check those filters for the address book? I didnt see it under options.

In the address book, hit the menu key and up to under Help is Filter.

While viewing your address book, press menu and choose filter.
