I think the OP meant 9650. At least that is what they put in the title of this thread.

What isn't there? The option to check the WiFi option box or the routers not detected by WiFi?

If it's a 9650, the option for Wifi is in the manage connections. If the WiFi option is checked and there are hotspots nearby, the 9650 should pick them up.

If the WiFi option isn't in manage connections or the options section, you should verify it's a 9650

If you have 9650 Bold (Verizon or Sprint) it will have Operating System (OS) 5. Clicking Manage Connections should open a screen with 3 sections (9 lines), each with entries related to Mobile Network, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. What do you see when you click Manage Connections?

I am thinking of upgrading from my BB Curve 8330 to either BB Curve 8650 or BB Bold 9650. I am currently with Sprint. I *need* better call coverage at my home and have a wireless router. I *thot* wifi might help with my call coverage but apparently not? Any carrier that supports both 8650 and 9650 with wifi / better call coverage? I also want to use wifi on my BB for traveling and not have to tote my laptop. Anyone able to use the Sprint BB 8650 and / or Bold 9650 with the Gogo Internet service? Have heard that the 9650 wifi is a different ??? something and Gogo only supports 802.11 or something like that? [I was quite annoyed to learn that my 8330 didn't have wifi so I couldn't use Gogo in the air -- dumb me, didn't know to check about wifi when I bought my 8330 ... foolishly thought all BB were wifi. [duh, slap the forehead]. Could I better call coverage at home AND have Gogo internet work with a different carrier? Thanks for any advice before I buy my new hummer.

Cellular phone calls are not routed through WiFi. If your cell coverage is poor at your home, having a phone with WiFi will not change that. Be aware, however, that some phones simply have better antennae, so a new phone might indeed seem to have better reception. If so, it still has nothing to do with the WiFi.

My Sprint 9650 works fine with Gogo WiFi. No problem there.
