My phone service was suspended a while ago, and i thought i might be able to use wifi still but even that isnt working.

Is that something the carrier does or is there some way to fix it

Every carrier is different... T-Mobile US does not disable the Wifi... AT&T I've heard does... so I guess it's possible that yours does.

Otherwise, I'd read the Wifi Guide in my signature below... there is a lot of very good info in there.

I thought this was because the internet went though RIMs servers, if your service isn't on, the wifi wont work either... I've been wrong before..

You should still be able to use the wifi for the internet. Can't make calls though.

If your wifi is network dependant, you won't be able to use it. If you're connecting to an all together seperate router, it'll work fine...
