So it looks like my old trusted 8830 is on its last legs. Somehow it is no longer charging so I guess I have to go to the store and find a new one tomorrow. But I have no idea what to get. I don't think I want the touchscreen....I have never been able to type on the iphone so I guess a berry touch screen would be no different.
What do you folks suggest....the 9630 looks like an option but I have read mixed reviews.

There is going to be "mixed" reviews on everything. Depends on who is in bed with who to determine how good or bad the review will be. You have used a physical keyboard in the past, there is the 8330 Curve, the Tour, and the 8530 will be out soon...all have phy keyboards. If you are not BB specific try the Droid...I hear it is pretty nice.

Tour or 8530 would be the way to go, UNLESS you are willing to change providers, in which case then the 9700 becomes a good option.

I would have to agree go tour All the build issues have already been fixed. and now they are very solid!

plus the leyboard is very similar to the 88xx series not the liek the curve keyboard.

Go with the Tour - it's like an 8830 with none of the shortcomings of the 8830

Found an extra charged battery lying around but I am running on fumes today. If I go with the tour, will the backup software be compatible...i.e. can I safely retrieve all my data from my PC to my new phone??
