It detects badly any of my headsets. Using the headset is nearly impossible at this point--sounds wanders between headset and the phone too much.
Anything I can do with the jack? Or should I get an 'insurance' replacement?
Not too fond of the Storm or Tour, holding out for something better. Rooted DROID didn't sound too bad, minus the lack of GSM. Wish BB did a pullout keyboard option like others did.
Instead of using insurance. Depending on what company you have, get a hold of technical with customer service, this issue should be under warranty. As long as there is not extreme physical damage or water damage then they should send you a replacement. Also, side note, they will most likely send you a refurb which is actually a safer bet. Refurbs have a lower rate of failure since they are tested more thoroughly.
