sorry for the newb question but i cant seem to find info in regards to an internet firewall you'd get on the blackberry device. 1)

do they exist?

for instance the popular zonealarm firewall that's on the pc etc

it just seems that if i dont have a firewall put on my blackberry and i surf the web via wifi that leaves my browsing very unsecure,

2)how do i make it more secure?

also spyware tracking cookies etc that you normally get on a pc

3)isn't the bb susceptible that too?

would u not need a program like ad-aware or spy-bot equivalent for the bb?

None of the things you mention are available, and even more
importantly, not necessary. The BB is extremely secure without
the need for any 3rd party firewall, anti-virus, adware or spyware
blocking software.

For those that say this is not needed I would like to take you a stroll back to 2006 when the bbproxy app and trojaned version of tic tac toe reeked havoc on corporate networks. This could of been thwarted with av or a firewall. Also as recent as this week there is another vulnerability for the blackberry that could of been stopped by some type of av if there was one developed.

Security is always needed where there is a will there is a way.

OK thanks for all the replies and maybe a firewall isn't necessary but my primary goal is to:

1) Enter "do-not-disturb" mode

2) Have an auto response to my sender that says: "hey, your recipient is in DND mode" (or custom message)

3) Any other features aside from the above functionality is a bonus.
