Of course not, this is BlackBerry.

You can expect it 3-5 years after it becomes a standard.

In the meantime, "it's not necessary , (whatever resolution we're on) is just fine and (x crackberry user) can't tell the difference between one and the other".

that's not the way it has to be, and not everyone has that perspective.. obviously thought I appreciate a lot of people here have debated that

Those are television specs for distance. Post the specs for a 5" phone. . . The thing is we cannot see past 720p (680p is average) . .. So we cant tell the difference between 720p and 1080p. A movie with the same contrast ratio (black) on 5" to 10" screen size you cannot tell any difference.

BUT with that said, the differences we can tell between 720p and 1080 are things life fonts (text)

Another "BUT" is in here as well, screen resolution is just a number, now the type of screen, technology used, hardware, software and lighting are all factors to keep in mind, if screens are identical you cannot tell the difference. But a cheap screen compared to a high end screen. Well then there will be a noticeable difference. We are not seeing past the 720p road block, but we can see the difference between good and bad.

So I don't want to see necessarily HIGHER screen resolution, We all should be demanding HIGHER quality screens, hardware, and software.
Blackberry has a better screen resolution than the iPhone. Who needs resolution anyway. You cannot tell the difference. people are blind.

I can tell the difference between 1080p and 720p quite easily..there's more than just the factor of pixels involved..

But i wouldn't want to sacrifice GPU for lighting up pixels personally so I hope the Z50 or future full touch screen reaches a nice balance..

I'm no dummy, I'd absolutely like to see a better screen on my Z30.

But not at the expense of my all day battery life and extra taxing of my processor!

Owise, I'm perfectly content with my screen as is.

There's a clear difference between a 720p and a 1080p. BlackBerry better step up their specs.

1080p seems to be the industry standard though, it's one of the things people argue with me against the Z30, whether they can tell the difference or not the fact that they don't have it and it's almost an industry standard means they'll be fuel to the flames of critics

And other manufactures have managed to have a 1080p screen and maintain a good battery life how? Those are problems BlackBerry is meant to work on solving.. thats innovation..

For every problem there a solution.. but you have to be willing to stop saying never and start asking how..

Yeah, why not? This should be in the next phone Z50. Even a phablet I hope they come out with. Chen should jump all over this. Skip 1080p. It's old now.
