2 weeks roughly with my Passport and I see now I am in trouble. Bold 9000 was a tough device with great keypad. Could blast out emails blind folded. Then went to the z10 followed by the z30. The z30 trumped the z10 within minutes. Great touch keyboard with word prediction and honestly never could go back to a Q10 due to screen real estate. Was not interested in the Classic one bit, but the Passport I had to try. Figured I would test it out for the winter and then give to the wife as she can carry it in her purse during the summer, and return to my z30. Well that's not happening. I have dropped this beast several times now since there is no holster. It's tough! No worries there. But to hammer out messages on a physical keyboard again with virtually no mistakes ever is a must. I would rather make a few spelling mistakes than have a wrong word prediction. The screen and working wide is an absolute must. Not having to toggle screen rotate all the time is a blessing. There is just no way I am willing to give up this new form factor. The only problem I have is BlackBerry has not made a holster. When you don't have an appropriate pocket, you need a holster. It's almost winter now, so ya pockets are abundant. But come next spring i am in trouble.

I am still having a bit of a hard time adjusting to the keyboard. I think maybe because there is very little space at the bottom of the phone compared to the z30, so my thumbs point down more, rather than being straight across or even a little point up.

I also have large hands and big thumbs, so it's a plus to reach the whole phone one handed, but maybe a negative for pounding out text?

For myself it'll be a step backwards going back to the rectangle no touch keyboard phones, just hope they come out with some kind of one hand typing mode (not for all the time use, but would come in handy in certain situations) . I absolutely love the look and build quality, demands respect.

This isn't a step backwards at all. The passport is a Square shaped phone, not rectangle, with a touchscreen and keyboard. And it's a HUGE screen

Isn't the passport a rectangular phone? The screen has 1:1 ratio so is square, but the keyboard makes it more rectangular than square

Yes. If you put it that way. It is touchscreen though. And the keyboard is also like a trackpad

Have passport now, meant would be backwards to go back to a Z10 style phone, already so used to the screen and the feeling of tactile keys (passport is my first keyboard phone)

Hmm, maybe there's a small market opportunity for a shell with retractable "horns" (EDIT: Think game controller) at the bottom, to improve typing comfort... :7

I think I have to agree with this. I have small hands and find holding the device for long periods uncomfortable. However, the keyboard seems perfectly spaced and positioned for my two-thumbs typing. There was absolutely zero adjustment time and I'm already starting to touch-type.

But casually walking around with the fingertips of one hand clawing at it for a secure purchase? That gets a little cramp-ish after a while.
