- Received a BBM update notice 48 hrs ago
- accepted update and restarted Z30
- carrier Bell Mobility
- just noticed via Device Monitor that my BBM version does not appear similar to what I apparently loaded.

Can someone provide me with a reality check to what might be happening?

Check out the app and see if it has message retraction and timed messages

The feature is there - greyed out.

When I attempt to retract a message a note is provided stating the contact does not subscribe to this service - even though my contact updated their bbm when I did - 48 hours ago.

The latest BBM version is 10.5.3.28.

Thanks. I figured I was updating to this version in BlackBerry App World. But to no avail.!

Now - when I'm in BlackBerry App BBM allows me to Open only - as apparently I installed it already? Go figure..

My son updates his BBM in his IPod - and we both can retract. But still can not retract on my colleague's BlackBerry. Go figure.

Did you notice that you updated the OS and not the BBM? Because that's what you did.

It was definitely the BBM update in BlackBerry App World. My OS software version is also 10.2.1.3247

Would think my OS update from Bell would not arrive via BlackBerry App World.

Still not sure why the new features on my phone do not work with another BlackBerry - but with an Apple product?

The person you are messaging has to have the updated version as well for all features to work.

There is no BBM update with that version number. That's the OS version number.
