Hey guys,

Recently I've been going through a lot of problems with BBM. I barely use the app and I think that I may have published my PIN at some point this year and this month I've been getting tons of requests from total strangers.

I don't use the app much, is there any way to Uninstall BBM or just block the app and all its connections? I don't want to have it consuming my data. Thanks in advance.

You can't install BBM
Publishing your PIN online was a dumb idea, and I'm not sure you can do much about it
You can just turn off notifications

If you publish your pin on Crack berry, you can trace it back easy and edit the post back to a blank post.... or you can just block all the creep on Bbm. Thats what I did

Some of my friends have spoken of getting numerous random friend requests. They have never posted their pins anywhere

Well for data consumption savings you could "hide" Feed updates.

Feeds - Long press on the update - hide all.

Do that for all the updates in Feeds. I normally do that for people who change their displays pictures every 2 seconds.

I have the same problem - i'm in Italy as well..
i've already disabled notifications for BBM, but invite notifications are still showing up
is there any way to set up a firewall like we did on previous OS?
i have received 150+ invitations in 3 days from different accounts, my Hub is a mess

I'm sure if you search the word "block" in BB World, you should find an app that blocks pin messages.

But before you block everything, just re-think your strategy (hint)

Posting is most likely the case. Even if forgotten somewhere. But, it could also be a phishing expedition with random generators of PIN numbers and some of you happen to be a target. I highly suggest NEVER replying to any of the invites from unknown persons. After some time, I'm sure it will die down when they start to assume they're pinging a dead device. Don't let them know they have a live person!

Simply go to-----> Settings -----> Security and Privacy ------> Parental Controls (create a unique one you can easily remember) ------> BBM (click on the blue round icon and it will be off)

To delete BBM you can use Sachesi (search in the forum for more info).

You may also receive numerous PIN invites because someone might have been using your email address (associated with your BlackBerry ID) to add you into his/her BBM contacts. By having your email address in someone's contact list, the person can ask BBM to scan contact and send invite without need to know your PIN.
