    Please keep in mind, I'm not happy about this. It was my understanding that BBM was supposed to be one of the key selling points of the platform. My problem is I am the only BlackBerry owner that I know. Is there an easier way to join channels or groups other than perusing the endless pages of the forums? Some pointers would be ever so lovely.

    A descriptive intro thread, or some personal details here might help. Give it time. I didn't BBM for months, and for years now it's my favorite form of cellular communication.

    Once BBM goes cross platform in September you should have more people to contact with it. Currently Channels are in Beta so if you want to use it and give your input in how it should be changed, you can hit up the BlackBerry beta zone and download it. It's pretty cool.

    I work with a bunch of people who own BlackBerry's and none of them see the point of bbm, they just text message.

    I prefer BBM Over text, but yeah the catch is you need to know other bbm users which never used to be a problem a few years ago. But like others have stated hopefully when it goes multi platform you won't have as big of a problem finding a use for it.

    Agreed! And why weren't BBM Channels available with the release of the phone, instead of a never ending wait for an update?

    BBM groups are a great way to start and meet new friends.

    Finally got channels working. They're not half bad, that is if you dig mobile blogs. Might even start one myself.
