Some ***** has added me to a chat with over 100 people. Now I can't do anything with BBM. Is there a way on BB10 to force BBM to reset or clear the chat? I have tried ending the chat and it dissapears for a split second then comes back.

Yes. I end the chat, it goes away, a second later it's back after refreshing. It's lagging BBM for me and I think it's that backlogged that it can't cope.

You'll be stuck in a loop for several hours. Don't talk in the chat, just quit and hopefully everyone else does the same. I was trapped in one overnight and still felt the aftereffects the next morning and afternoon. My Z30 got Soo hot that I shut it off overnight.

Thanks I have sorted that. But it doesn't solve my immediate problem of the chat and the shed load of people in it.

Do you know which one of your contacts initiated the chat? Can you remove them as a contact?

I'm almost fairly sure that you can leave a chat, not just delete the chat.

I did that. And tried removing the contact. Nothing works. Not removing from hub, not ending the chat, not leaving chat, nothing. Basically the guy put a lot of people into one chat and it sent mine, and presumably everyone else in the chat, BBM into overdrive. Looks like I either wait or do a quick wipe and hope it resolves it's self. I have logged into BBM on my iPod and the chat is gone. So it must be local to my phone. But still why someone would put that many people in one chat is beyond me anyway.

Try turning off your data, then repeating the removal process. Once done, turn your data back on.

Try disable save chat history before leaving the chat.

While you are waiting for this to get resolved you can try going to setting, Notifications, Applications, BBM and turn off all alerts, then at the bottom customize for Contacts just the people you want to BBM with in case anything important comes up

Nah didn't work. And BBM was lagging out so it was rendered completely useless. Will just leave it and see what happens. Turned it off, left it on charge because the phone was getting hot.

Ok it's ended. My wife saw something on a website to try and I figured it wouldn't hurt. Booted my phone and the last message I saw in my hub was:

"HAHA BBM STRESS TEST ****S TEH PHONES!!! STUPID BBM AND BLACKBERRY SUCKS!!!"

So whoever started the chat thought it was funny to slow my phone down, render BBM useless and prevented the phone from functioning properly. Joyous. Moral of the story is don't trust anyone one BBM.

I think the OP is saying he can't navigate in the app due to the lag. So he needed a way to stop it outside of the actual app. I like Bla1ze's suggestion.

Oh I am sorry. In the middle of trying to sort my phone I completely forgot that this is the internet where the "no screenshot so fake" rules apply. I will remember that the next time I have trouble doing anything with my phone.

Yeah this is what I meant. It seems to have rectified it's self now. So hopefully it won't happen again.
