Let's face it, BBM may have much to offer compared to the competition but it has completely lost the cool factor to others like Skype or Whatsap.

Think about these two scenario and ask yourself which would have the best market success.

Let's imagine Skype and BBM were to merge into a single service and use the BBM backend. I would speculate if the service were called Skype Plus it would have huge market success compared to if the combined service was called BBM Plus.

We know that unless Microsoft were to buy Blackberry that the above scenarios would never happen, but would a new name for BBM improve marketability ?
