    hi there
    hoping someone can help....

    I use "sounds for contacts" on my bold 9780.

    I have messages set to beeping so that I am alerted to text messages at work but don't bother coworkers with ringing.

    My active profile is always set to silent so that unexpected callers can't disturb me either.

    The messages option in 'sounds for contacts' doesn't work or apply to BBM messages. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to CrackBerry! This is odd, what BBM version do you have running? I happen to have my mother's 9780 with me and it doesn't mute it if I put ring tone to no sound.
