I got a message from BlackBerry in BBM. As you can see in the first picture on top of the chats it says "you have new message"

    Message from BlackBerry?!-img_20150305_224015.png

When opened it looks like this:

    Message from BlackBerry?!-img_20150305_224010.png

Wtf? Is this message real? Why are they sending them? And why do they look s****y like this?

I got the same message too. They are just trying to advertise for custom pin and add free options to make some $$. Can't blame them. If they advertise once a month and not more often I'm ok , I can handle it

But a good advertisement could look a little bit better and kind of professional.

This is not a professional advertisement. If they will keep doing this, i think people will remove bbm. I hope this was the first and the last one!!

Good idea but I think they could have styled the message a bit better to make it more appealing.

This kills me, whining like little children, you don't like the color or how it looks, and on top of that you don't know how to use your phone to delete the message. Hold the message and the delete icon will show up at the bottom of the screen. Utterly pathetic.

I got the message too but don't see any problems with it. There is nothing free;they need to make money from the app. If you don't want to see the advertisement pop up, you have to pay for it.

Even if it's annoying it's totally over the top to say you will remove BBM, unless that is you actually don't use it anyway.

    No I agree with him.

I don't mind the advertising they've been doing on your feed and stuff, even though I'd like to actually see some real advertising.

But this is pretty intrusive and very weird. If they keep it up, I'll chuck bbm off a pier.

    I can text people.

I think it can be very useful as a way to communicate directly to bbm users.

I hope they avoid advertising with it in the future, but I can see value in letting users know about new features and the like.

This has been running through my mind for the past few months (ever since the sticker fiasco) and at this rate it is going to happen sooner than later. I use BBM almost exclusively and WhatsApp looks better and better every new "feature" BBM adds.

My standpoint is if you want to advertise on android and iOS, so be it
Don't advertise on BB10 devices. Hell, give BB10 devices free "premuim" functions.
That's more of an attraction to new users, and also helps with loyalty as well, both in which they are lacking

Millions of BBM users and only a few thousand are on CB and follow this kind of stuff. How do you think the millions will know about this new feature?

Anytime I am, in some form more or less, forced to look at an ad I consider it intrusive. The only thing ads do is try to sell you something you otherwise would never have wanted. I am more than capable of making those decisions on my own.

A first world problem it is. Look around at all that stuff you probably never really wanted or knew you didn't need and may not have really even used and then consider all those people who never even had a chance to have any of it. What a waist.
