So there's a chat history backup button under settings for BlackBerry 10.

I'm transferring all my data from my passport back to my Q10 to send the passport for repairs.

I have many times in the past, successfully backuped and restored my Bbm chat history between my various BlackBerry 10 devices using BlackBerry link as there was an entry under applications simply called "BBM"

Now when I do a full backup in link the entry is no longer there. I've checked many times, even replugging in my passport again and again, backing up a few times, just to check if I missed anything, yet no joy.

It's almost like they chose to omit "BBM" from being restored. Again let me stress that it's never like this before.

Why do we have a chat history backup feature? Where is the file? How do we restore?

Any info on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

That thread is old, BBM has now a backup chat button and backups using link no longer shows BBM app data.

As I said in the OP. I've never had trouble transferring my BBM chat history before, that is until last week.

This backup method does still work (as reported by another user in a different thread).

The backup file is mainly just to ensure your chats still exist during an upgrade afaik. They talk about it during the beta of having it on and saving it before upgrading.

The BBM app data doesn't appear as an option to restore with blackberry link.

I've tried many times and I have the latest blackberry link and bbm.

My full backup file is missing the bbm application.

First time this has happened to me in years.
