now with the shady app called WhatsApp, maybe BBM should get up with BBM secure layers we know from the business/enterprie part and another one is very interesting the meeting function where you can talk with more persons at the same time included with video for 4 persons.

Putting Protected for everyone and for free would be the logical step (like just about any other non-Chinese messenger now), but given the split between BBM Enterprise (BlackBerry) and BBM (Emtek) I'm not sure about that. As well, like the lion's share of BlackBerry services, BBM Meetings was just a fancy name for something else: here, Zoom.

getting free Protected would get BB in even more trouble with governments, its biggest revenue customers. WA doesn't rely on government revenue so when it gets temporarily banned which has happened in several cases its not going to buckle.

In short BB is happy where it is. Global key to decrypt individual accts on government requests and Protected for enterprise who will pay for it.

I like to pay for some extra ,but I think the must do something with dogwatch combined with BBM. So maybe a package for a more secure BBM with Storage combined with a personal email account. They can make money
