I own a Q5 by my carrier does not have access to BlackBerry network. If I downloaded BBM Apk file thru amazon would it work on my Q5 or do I need to change carriers

Why do you need the BBM apk for a Q5? Just install real BBM 10.3 (through BlackBerry World or perhaps sideload the bar file). All you need is wifi and BBM should work regardless of what your carrier has/doesn't have.
