    BBM should use a traditional media campaign such as advertisements on billboards, decking out metro trains in its branding, newspaper ads, interactive video boards,*TV ad spots, and other high-profile brand opportunities.

    If all traditional media costs too much, then learn from Evernote's cost effective YouTube campaign.

    Showcase individuals, small businesses, associations, and organizations using BBM. BBM requires brand awareness with very short YouTube clips very similar to how Evernote markets on that medium in the following individual areas:

    -- cross-platform
    -- instant messaging with D/R &writing status
    -- sharing pictures
    -- sharing files from device
    -- sharing files from dropbox
    -- sharing ideas in private or public channels
    -- sharing location via glympse
    -- sharing a recorded audio
    -- sharing contacts
    -- multi person chat messaging
    -- free voice calls
    -- group or team messaging

    Then BBM needs to go hard on the local angle: using celebrities, launch events, and more media. All this costs money but it will pay off big time.

    BBM needs brand awareness.

    I agree…. I agree 100000% percent.. mean at least a twitter and Facebook and youtube, Subway blitz… they need to do something.. these blog posts aren't going to get it done… wish they really had the voice of the people on ALL issues, not just on bigger smileys and larger file sharing sizes..

    It just seems that the BBM marketing team seems to be silent. Or, is there a BBM marketing team at all? If there is such a team, what BBM marketing projects did they complete?

    Evernote YouTube channel has been extremely effective in educating individuals and businesses about the different Evernote built in applications and in turn building brand and customer base.

    BBM.com can easily do this cost effective YouTube marketing blitz with short videos on each individual BBM built in application that is listed, using simple but interesting graphics and BBM in action showcasing individuals, businesses and organizations using these capabilities.
