Tough question...

BBM no matter if it's BB10 or BBOS uses the same network architecture and encryption methods as I understand it. So from a communications perspective, they are equal in my mind.

I would argue that BBM for BB10 is 'less secure' than legacy BBM only because it offers so many more ways to share various personal and social information about yourself to your contacts. It's also much easier to drill down into your contacts and what their doing, or not . Even historical data. It's important to understand that I talk from a consumer perspective and not an enterprise / BBM Protected which is a different level all together.
