Default T-Mobile prepaid?

Quick Question guys... A friend of mine has a tmobile prepaid phone and is asking me if its possible to get an iphone running on it... I am not sure as I know it can run on Tmo service if unlocked but what about a prepaid with Sim card plan????

You can get it to work but you can only do the phone and sms messages, anything else you need wifi. Unless you get the TMO blackberry flex account.

Can it browse the web on tmo if it's unlocked? Without the use of wifi
