I am new to blackberry, having been Palm (briefly flirting with a Jornada) for many, many years.

I have been searching for three weeks now with no results.

Syncing to Outlook is a nonstarter for this particular application. I don't want to learn Act!.

I need a simple way to back up and edit the phone contact list in a 8830. I've seen a couple of things that purport to be database editors, but I haven't found where the correct database is.

How hard would it be for someone to whip me up something that makes a database on a pc, that I can edit, and send up to the bb, and potentially sync changes I make on the bb to the pc's database? Doesn't have to be flashy, just has to work.

perhaps the Barry toolkit will provide some useful code for use. It probably will not be simple, since you are essentially doing undocumented things with that.

There might be an api exposed for sync, but I don't know about it.
